Niall Quinn discusses his new contract

Submitted : 4th March 2013

Young defender Niall Quinn spoke to Linfieldfc.com this week about his new contract with the club.

" I am absolutely delighted to sign this new deal with the club. There is no other club in Ireland that I would rather be with. We have been a bit unfortunate so far this season in terms of the league and the domestic cups but we still have the Setanta Cup to look forward to."

" It's great to see the manager and the club showing such faith in the young players. It's a boost to players coming up through the Academy and it's brilliant that Ross Clarke and Ross Glendinning have also signed new deals. It shows the other kids that they have an opportunity to thrive and prosper at this club if they put in the necessary work. "

Niall also spoke about his own form this season having made 20 first team appearances.

" It was great to get the first fifteen games of the season under my belt then I picked up an unfortunate injury. That held me back a bit but I got back in for the Glens game before getting injured again. My target for the rest of the season is to try to nail down a regular first team place but I know that it will be difficult. "

" I'm really looking forward to the Setanta Cup games. It will be a tough tie against Shamrock Rovers but the objective will be to get something to bring back to Windsor Park for the second leg next week. "
