Linfield Ladies club captain Sarah Venney who scored the final goal in Friday's 4-0 Cup Final victory, discusses this first trophy success for the Ladies team.
"It's an unbelievable feeling. It's great to win but to win by a 4-0 margin, it's more than we could ever have hoped for.
The Glens are the top team. They've already won the league, so to get this result tonight against quality opposition is just a brilliant achievement.
We came out tonight really confident, with the whole management team behind us and believing in us. We've worked very hard in training and while we were confident, we couldn't have imagined we'd win by 4-0, so it's just the best feeling ever tonight.
All the players in the squad of 20 have worked hard and there's a great team spirit among the players and that's been a major factor in our recent great run of results and this great result tonight. It's been an unbelievable effort and well worth it for that result tonight.
The usual players popped up with the goals tonight. Kirsty was great with her 2 goals and it was lovely for Amber to score before she heads to the States tomorrow, along with Maeve and Louise.
I was delighted to get on the scoresheet with the final goal so all in all, it's an unbelievable feeling tonight.
The whole club has got behind us great - Windsor Roar supplied a great pre-match meal to help us prepare and focus really professionally on tonight's game. Stephen Dickson and DISCOUNT BLINDS provided us with a great new kit and of course, David Jeffrey and a lot of Linfield supporters were here tonight cheering us on, so we can't thank everyone enough for the great support. It gives everybody a real lift and helped drive us on. Alfie Wylie was here as National team manager watching a number of his international players and it's great he got the chance to see what a lot of the Linfield Ladies players could do against quality opposition on such a big stage.
That's our first ever win against Glentoran, so that will do wonders for our confidence. We know we still have to play them in a cup semi-final and another cup final, so without getting ahead of ourselves, we can approach those games with greater confidence and belief.
We'll just keep working hard in training and enjoying our football and hopefully, we can keep this great run of results going, starting at Ballymena in the league on Wednesday.
Ryan and his coaching staff have done brilliantly. He's a really dedicated coach. He is very thorough and dedicated and we're so lucky to have him and his coaching staff."
