David Healy announces the loan signing of Stephen Fallon

"I'm really pleased to announce that we've today signed 18 year old right winger Stephen Fallon on loan from Swansea City until the end of the season.

Stephen is a player I've worked with at underage level with the international squad and I'm looking forward to working with him again.

He's a talented young player and a great prospect for the future. He wants to learn and he wants to play and he's an exciting young player with potentially a big future ahead of him in the game.

He's a quality player and I'm looking forward to seeing how he develops over the few months of this loan arrangement with us, before he returns to Swansea City next season.

He's looking for game time and the experience of working with our players and coaches and he is a very welcome addition to the squad for the remainder of one season."

Stephen Fallon spoke to Linfieldfc.com after signing at Windsor Park.

"I'm delighted to be signing for Linfield. Although I've been with Swansea for two years, I'm originally from Belfast and this loan arrangement until the end of the season will be great experience for me in my development as a player.

I've played for the Swansea youth team and around 15 games for their reserve team and I'm very pleased to be coming home to Belfast at this time.

I've played for the Northern Ireland under age teams from under 16s through to under 19s and I know David Healy well, having played for him at under 17s level. I respect him greatly as a coach and as a person and I'm looking forward to hopefully playing for him at club level.

David has shown that he will put his faith in young players, if they are good enough and have the right attitude, so I'm looking forward to meeting up with him, the coaching staff and the players in the squad.

My aim during my time here is to try and break through into the first team and help the club to be successful. I'm keen to get as much game time and experience as possible in what I know is a competitive league.

Linfield are a top club with excellent players so the competition for places within the squad will be fierce but I'm looking forward to the challenge.

The experience I gain here can only benefit me and hold me in good stead for when I return to Swansea to try and break through to their first team squad next season."
