Daniel Kearns - “delighted to sign for Linfield”

Posted : 10th July 2018

New signing Daniel Kearns spoke to Linfieldfc.com earlier on Monday.

“I’m delighted to have got the signing and the medical completed and I’m really looking forward to a good pre season with the lads and then kicking on.

I know most of the players from playing against them and they’re a good bunch of lads, so I just can’t wait to get started.

The manager invited me to training on Thursday and the game on Saturday and I was made to feel very welcome.

It’s a good move for me to come home to Belfast and I’m really looking forward to working with David Healy who was a top striker in his day.

My aim is to enjoy my football and I want to score goals, win football matches and win trophies and I believe I can do that here.

I know there’s a lot of pressure on the players at this club, as the demands and the expectations are so great but the pressure will bring out the best of me and I’m used to handling pressure at my previous clubs.

At Linfield you have to be challenging and I want to contribute, to help get the club back among the challengers at the top of the table again.

Windsor Park is a great venue with great facilities and I can’t wait to get on the pitch. I remember the Setanta Cup game for Dundalk when I scored a hat trick here and I want to get out there and score more goals on that pitch.

Joel Cooper and I could be set for first team debuts away to our former club Glenavon. It promises to be a great game and a great start to the season, so we are all really looking forward to being involved in what’s sure to be a great occasion with a big crowd.

I’m just really delighted to have signed for Linfield and I want to work hard in pre season training to be ready for the big kick off at the start of August,”
