David Healy appeals for support for ALL 4 Champion trophy teams at Windsor Park on Saturday

Posted : 18th April 2019

An appeal from David Healy to Linfield players / coaches in ALL our teams.

“Saturday promises to be a momentous day in the proud history of Linfield FC, with 4 NIFL League trophies due to be presented to 4 different Linfield teams.

Congratulations to the underage teams who have won the under 16, under 18 and under 20 NIFL league titles.

With the Gibson Cup due to be presented post match, it promises to be a very special day for a lot of people.

We will have our Under 16 team in attendance when their trophy is presented to captain Ross McCausland.

We will have our Under 18 team in attendance when their trophy is presented to captain Mark Green.

Our Swifts team will also be in attendance for their half time trophy presentation to captain Caomhan McGuinness.

Our Under 10 team will be in attendance, as they are conducting a pre match bucket collection to assist with their trip to Ibrox in the new season.

However, I’m issuing an appeal to all our various Academy teams and coaches to be in attendance, and in their club track suits.

We have a hugely successful Academy across all the age groups and I’d love to see them all in attendance and in a special designated area of the ground such as the Family Stand, perhaps.

We have a hugely successful Ladies team and a vibrant Ladies youth Academy and I’d love to see them in attendance with their coaches, in their track suits at Saturday’s title celebration day.

It’s a historic, unprecedented day with 4 separate NIFL trophies due to be presented to Linfield and I want as many members of the Linfield family in attendance, to witness and applaud the success of 4 of our teams.

Our Academy players and coaches have Academy passes and I want to see them make use of their passes to be in attendance, not just on Saturday but for as many of our Windsor Park games as possible.

And can I urge all Linfield supporters to be in the South and Kop Stands for 2.30pm to welcome and applaud the first of our teams to receive their NIFL league title.

The under 16s presentation is due to take place at 2.30pm, with the Rangers presentation due to take place 10 minutes later. The Swifts presentation will take place at half time.

Aside from the 90 minutes of the actual game, the focus of this day is Trophy presentation celebrations and I want to see all our supporters cheering on each of our 4 teams, as they receive their NIFL league trophies.

All our teams have worked hard to achieve their successes and they all deserve their share of the limelight and they all deserve the appreciation and adulation of Linfield Supporters when their captains lift their NIFL league trophies at Windsor Park on Saturday.

Let’s make Windsor Park on Saturday a real True Blue Champion day and cheer on all our League Champion Linfield teams.”
