Linfield FC Windsor Park match day experience tours
In response to sustained demand from various supporters of this club, Linfield FC is pleased to announce the commencement of Linfield FC Windsor Park match day experience tours.
The first tour will take place on the morning of Saturday January 20 (before the Glenavon game) with further such tours lined up for February 3 (before the Newry game), February 10 (before the Dungannon game) and March 10 (before the Carrick Rangers game).
The format of the Windsor Park match day experience tours will be as follows.
The tours will commence promptly at 10.45am from the Linfield office in the Railway Stand.
Tours will have to commence promptly at this time to ensure they finish before 12 noon when the ground closes to prepare for match readiness and gate re-opening time of 1.30pm. Supporters on the tours will need to leave the ground on the completion of the tour.
A maximum of 20 people can be on any given tour.
The tour will cost £5 for adults or £1 for under 16s with all proceeds being donated to the official charity of this club - The Northern Ireland Children's Hospice.
The tour will commence in the Linfield office at the trophy cabinet where proudly in residence at present are the Irish League and Irish Cup trophies, as well as the Women's Premier League and Women's League Cup trophies.
The tour will also include the recently dedicated Memorial to the former Linfield personnel who served in the World Wars.
The office section of the tour will conclude with a visit to the Linfield board room where directors meet for board meetings, usually twice a month.
The Windsor Park match day experience tour will then proceed to the South Stand with visits to the Tommy Dickson suite and the Noel Bailie MBE suite on Level 2. These two hospitality suites will feature appropriate signage of the 2 Linfield legends they are named after on our match days.
After a visit to the Tennents bar, the tour will descend to the ground floor with the first port of call being the media press conference room where you can live the dream and be photographed as if you are David Healy MBE with the official Linfield media board behind your seat.
From there the tour will proceed to the Linfield FC home dressing room which will have some of the squad shirts out on display. The tour will proceed with the cooperation of the Linfield back room staff who immediately after the tour has departed from the dressing room, will have to put out the shirts which will be required for the afternoon's game, once David Healy MBE has named his 16 man squad on duty that day.
From the Linfield dressing room the tour will take the route the Linfield players will take later that afternoon down the players' tunnel.
In the tunnel you can imagine the feelings of the players, as they prepare to take to the world famous Windsor Park stage and in the tunnel you can be photographed in front of the BBC media board just as David Healy MBE will be later in the day after the afternoon's game.
Supporters will appreciate that they will not be permitted access to the actual playing surface itself but you will be able to breathe in the surroundings and imagine the atmosphere from the side of the pitch in front of the home dug out.
You can be photographed in the dug out against the Linfield back drop, as if you are a coach or a member of the backroom or playing staff.
From here the tour will return to the rear of the Railway Stand where the tour will conclude and supporters will be free to go for lunch before returning to Windsor Park once the gates open at 1.30pm.
Bookings for these tours are going to be taken on a one tour at a time basis and so the only bookings that can be taken at present are for the opening tour which will be on Saturday January 20. Once that tour is concluded on January 20, the opportunity for bookings for the next tour will be provided on Linfieldfc.com
The tour will be taken by the club's honorary secretary and bookings for up to 20 supporters who want to take advantage of this opportunity can be submitted to firstname.lastname@example.org
Any under 16s on the tour must be accompanied by their parent / guardian / supervising adult.
The first 20 supporters who apply will receive a confirmation of booking email in reply and they can pay for the tour in advance at the Linfield Superstore or they can pay on the day.
As soon as the tour becomes full, a notice will be published on Linfieldfc.com to save others the frustration of applying for a booked up tour.
