The catchphrase was 'Head, heel or toe, slip it to Joe' and as can be seen below, whether Joe played for Linfield, Glentoran, Chelsea, Walsall or Ireland and especially in the really big games such as Cup Finals, Joe delivered where and when it really mattered - in front of Goal.

Joe Bambrick was born in Belfast on November 3, 1905.

His season by season goalscoring record is as follows

He made a guest appearance for Linfield on May 4, 1927 scoring 3 times in a 4-0 win in Tommy Frame's benefit game.

Joe signed for Linfield on May 25, 1927

He made his Linfield debut, scoring twice in a 6-1 win against Glentoran on August 20, 1927.

Joe scored 2 goals in a 4-0 home win against Bangor on December 22, 1934

Joe signed for Chelsea on December 24, 1934 in a £2500 transfer deal.

He then made his Chelsea debut on Christmas Day 1934 in a 2-0 home win v Aston Villa

He scored his first Chelsea goal on Boxing Day 1934 in a 3-0 away win v Aston Villa.

He scored 4 goals in a 7-1 home win v Leeds on March 16, 1935

He scored 4 goals in a 4-2 home win v Man City on April 27, 1935

He scored a hat trick in a 3-5 home defeat by Stoke on September 4, 1935

He scored in Chelsea's 1-1 home draw with Arsenal in front of Chelsea's record attendance of 82,905 on October 12, 1935.

He scored a hat-trick in a 3-1 FA Cup win v Norwich on January 15, 1936

His final Chelsea goal was in a 2-1 home win v Brentford on October 23, 1937 with his final appearance in a home 0-0 draw with Bolton on March 12, 1938
