Recent away wins against Portadown and Dungannon Swifts have taken Linfield to a first League Cup final in 11 long years. The game against Ballymena United will take place at Windsor Park at 5.30pm on Saturday February 16, 2019 and it will be broadcast live on Sky Sports. This will be a hugely prestigious and eagerly anticipated occasion and one in which a large Linfield support will be needed, to hopefully drive our team on to win a trophy which hasn’t been lifted by a Linfield team since the memorable and dramatic 3-2 win against Crusaders in February 2008. League cup success may be long overdue but if it’s to be achieved on the day, our team will have to be on top form against a highly consistent Ballymena team which will be competing in their third successive League Cup final.

A warm Windsor Park welcome is extended to the players, officials and supporters of Glenavon FC for today’s highly important Premier League game. The Mourneview Park team were early pace setters in the league table and currently sit in third place, well placed for a sustained title challenge in the new year. In the opening game of the season, Linfield won a hard-fought game by a 1-0 margin in Lurgan and another close, competitive encounter is anticipated today.

Tickets are on sale today for the hugely anticipated, traditional Boxing Day game against Glentoran. Members and season tickets are valid for this game which is usually one of the biggest occasions in the local sporting calendar.

Tickets are also on sale today for next Saturday’s Belfast Derby game away to Cliftonville. Arrangements for this game are similar to our trip to Solitude in August, with members and season ticket holders able to make their own arrangements to travel to this important game, or able to choose to travel on club arranged transport from Ballysillan Leisure centre, as has been the case for a number of years.

Linfield have been drawn at home to Ballyclare Comrades in the Irish Cup on Saturday January 5. Members and season tickets will not be valid for this game.

Supoorters are reminded that the January 26 ‘Big Two’ Derby has been delayed until Monday January 28 and will be broadcast live on the Sky Sports newtwork.

The Kop Stand will be in use again today and at the Boxing Day game against Glentoran.

A very Merry Christmas to all Linfield players, staff, officials and supporters and hopefully, this busy festive period will prove to be a successful time for everyone at the club.
