Linfield Remembers

Posted : 2nd November 2019 at 22:19:08

Today's tributes commenced with a short Service of Remembrance at the club’s War Memorial situated in the Railway Stand offices.

The service remembered the 19 former Linfield players who died whilst serving their country during the 1st and 2nd World Wars. It also paid tribute to the other Linfield personnel who served with distinction (and in many cases suffered injury) during these and other conflicts and returned home afterwards.

The focus then switched to the traditional pre-match tribute with the two teams being led onto the pitch by a Royal British Legion piper.

Manager David Healy laid a poppy wreath in the centre circle, ahead of the minutes silence in honour of the Fallen.

Tributes were also laid by a representative of the Scots Guards.
