Launch of Windsor Park Family Section at Saturday's game

A new Family section is being introduced in the South Stand at Saturday's Premier League game against Ards.
It is situated in the corner of the South and Railway Stands and the aim is to make this an area suitable and attractive for parents, grandparents or lapsed supporters to bring their children and get them in the habit of coming to games to support the club.
The club also relaunches the free admission for supervised youth groups scheme at Saturday's game, with several different youth groups benefiting, by taking up the club's offer of free tickets to help launch the new Family section at Saturday's game.
Among the youth groups in attendance on Saturday are young people from the 10th Bangor BB and 16th Newtownabbey BB companies, as well as other youth groups from Donaghadee, Portavogie, Bangor, Bloomfield and Dungoyne as well as the Donegall Rd area close to Windsor Park. In total, just over 200 free tickets have been provided to these youth groups, with further groups already booked for forthcoming League games before Christmas.
Linfield director Stephen Shaw was delighted to introduce this new initiative, "Young supporters are very welcome at Windsor Park and we wish to encourage them and make them feel special. We are conscious that a large proportion of the fan base of our great club has originally been brought to our games by family members and after being brought up in the club's surroundings, they got into the lifelong habit of following the club.
For the remainder of the 2017/18 season, the club will open its brand-new Family Section in the South Stand/Railway Stand corner of Windsor Park and we hope this initiative is a great success.
This development has been in response to constructive suggestions we have received from regular and potentially new supporters who have expressed a desire to see such a section promoting family attendance at games within the new stadium. The board have responded positively to these welcome comments by providing an appropriate section for our younger fans and their families where they can enjoy the game in their own dedicated section.
We would encourage grandparents, parents, children and grandchildren to use this section, as we really want to see our attendances grow and grow, with more and more people getting into the lifelong and exciting habit of following our great club and making use of the excellent facilities now on offer at our games."
