The second half brought a succession of great saves from the Derry City keeper.

The first one was in the 48th minute when Megan Bell danced into the box and her low right wing cross was pounced on by Louise McDaniel but the visiting keeper produced a great save from point blank range.

The keeper was again in the right place at the right tone to thwart Lauren Robson's 50th minute strike.

Rebecca McKenna replaced Rebecca Bassett after 61 minutes and in the 65th minute a low right wing cross by McKenna found McDaniel in the box but the visiting keeper again came to her team's rescue with another fine save.

On 68 minutes Naomi Donnan replaced Lauren Robson and the keeper produced another super save after 70 minutes, pushing away a delicate Megan Bell chip.

Chloe McCarron shot over the bar in the 71st minute and a minute later Kirsty McGuinness fired over from a wide left position. Megan Bell shot over on 75 minutes, as the third goal proved elusive.

Finally, the third goal did arrive in the 78th minute when Chloe McCarron teed up Kirsty McGuinness to drive low into the bottom corner.

Linfield continued to press and in the 80th minute Megan Bell shot wide and a minute later young Caitlin Rae replaced the ever consistent Jennifer McDade.

On 85 minutes the Derry City keeper thwarted Megan Bell again, with another great save and a minute later she produced an even better save to turn away a Kirsty McGuinness strike that was destined for the top corner.

The inspired goalkeeping display was concluded with another great save on 90 minutes - again denying Megan Bell after great build up play.
