On August 20 while playing for Northern Ireland under 19s in a friendly against Hungary in Ballymoney, star Linfield keeper Lauren Perry was injured and taken to Antrim area hospital.
Scan results in the last few days have revealed the full extent of the injury and the news of a torn cruciate in her left leg has been a huge blow to Lauren and the rest of her team mates and the staff of Linfield Ladies FC.
Lauren will undergo an operation in the next few weeks and the serious injury will rule her out of action for a considerable number of months.
The best wishes of everyone at Linfield FC are extended to popular Lauren for a full and speedy recovery.
Lauren won the three Player of the year awards last season from NIFL, the Ulster Player of the year and the NIFWA Player of the year awards, so the news of the injury is a huge blow for the lifelong Linfield season ticket holder.
