Linfield win Premier League title for 4th year in a row

Congratulations to Linfield Ladies on winning the Danske Bank NIFL 2019 Premier league title - a fourth year in a row when Linfield have been crowned league champions.

The league success ensures qualification for the UEFA champions league in August 2020.

Linfield travelled to the Brandywell needing to win by a 7-0 margin to win the league.

Anything less and the title would have gone to a strong Sion Swifts team who’d already completed their league programme.

62 mins - Casey Howe’s effort is saved on the line by a Derry defender who is red carded. Kirsty McGuinness converts the penalty and Linfield lead 6-0.

65 mins - The Derry goalkeeper is red carded for an incident involving Caitlin McGuinness. A penalty is awarded but the penalty from Kirsty McGuinness rebounds off the post and into the arms of the grateful stand in keeper.

73 mins - the all important decisive 7th goal arrives when Chloe McCarron chips the keeper from a wide right position.

75 mins - Chloe McCarron’s shot is parried by the keeper but the loose ball rebounds off Rebecca Bassett and into the net to put Linfield 8-0 ahead.
