The Return to the Kop Stand for Saturday’s Windsor Park game

Posted : 24th September 2018 at 23:00:19

Following representations from supporters, Linfield Football club is pleased to announce the partial opening of the famous Kop Stand for Saturday’s hugely important Danske Bank Premiership game against Ballymena United at Windsor Park. The first two sections adjacent to the South Stand will be opened on a trial basis for Saturday’s game.

Whilst this initiative will incur significant additional security costs for the club, the success of the trial will be evaluated and we will consider further use of the Kop Stand for games where spectator numbers warrant this. We would urge our supporters to get behind this trial opening and to urge on the team in a positive and enthusiastic manner from the iconic Kop Stand.

Access to the Kop stand will be via the normal Donegall Avenue entrance and non Members and Season Ticket holders can purchase a Kop Stand ticket at the club’s ticket office at the rear of the Railway Stand before the game.

Supporters wishing to enter the Kop Stand should then proceed via the rear of the South Stand to the turnstiles in the South / Kop corner of the ground.

Supporters are asked to follow the instructions of stewards and security staff at all times.

Supporters buying South or Kop Stand Tickets on Saturday are asked to remain in the Stand designated on their match ticket.

The Kop Stand is a traditional and hugely symbolic natural home from home for many Linfield supporters and this initiative is aimed at attracting any lapsed or new supporters to our world famous and impressively redeveloped Windsor Park home.

Please support the club in this initiative which is being trialed in close cooperation and after close consultation with our loyal supporters.
