Linfield have been involved in home European action on four occasions on July 14 - a date famous across the globe as being the French National holiday - Bastille day.

Most famously of course, Linfield hosted Celtic on July 14 three years ago in a game that was recalled on Linfieldfc.com yesterday.

On July 14 in 2010 Linfield recorded a scoreless home draw with Rosenborg of Norway in a Champions League 1st leg tie with the following team line up

A Blayney, K Lindsay, D Curran, P Lowry (M McAllister 70’), P Thompson, N Bailie, BJ Burns (J Ervin 76’), A Burns, R Garrett, J Mulgrew and B McCaul (M Carvill 60’).

On July 14 in 2005 a Tim Mouncey goal in the 5th minute gave Linfield a 1-0 win against Ventspils of Latvia in the UEFA Cup.

The Linfield team line up was as follows

On this July 14 date in 2004 Linfield lost a Champions League 1st round 1st leg tie 1-0 at home to HJK Helsinki of Finland.

The visitors grabbed a 76th minute winner and the Linfield team was
