Linfield will enjoy home advantage on match day six of the NIFL Danske Bank Premiership when welcoming Glenavon FC to Windsor Park (3pm ko, all ticket). Covid-19 safety and distancing protocols will once again be in operation at the stadium.
In our last outing Linfield put down a marker with a massive win (2-0) at the Coleraine Showgrounds to maintain a winning start to the Premiership season. Goals from Andy Waterworth and Jordan Stewart saw the Blues home to take all three points. The latter was simply unplayable at times with a display that was worth the entrance fee alone. Although this was probably not the case for the restricted number of Coleraine supporters who were able to attend the game! David Healy will have certainly been delighted with the overall team performance which put the Coleraine Showgrounds 'hoodoo' to bed with a first win since April 2017. Icing on the cake was a well-deserved first clean sheet of the league campaign.
Glenavon have made a fairly promising start to their own campaign which sees them sitting in sixth place in the table. Manager Gary Hamilton has brought in former Linfield man
Paul McAreavey as his assistant at the club. New recruits to the playing staff include the vastly experienced Sean Ward, ex-NI international Michael O'Connor and Matthew Snoddy who has signed on at Mourneview for a second loan spell from parent club Crusaders.
Linfield will be expecting a tough game today against a Glenavon side who you feel have the potential to go on a run to push on towards a top four slot. The Blues will need to be right on top of their game to ensure another home win. COYB!
