Fortune Favours the Brave – Never Standing Still
Linfield Football Club has today March 15th 2021 launched its new five-year Strategic Plan (2021-2025). This launch date coincides with the 135th anniversary of the club and heralds a new and exciting future for the Belfast Blues.
The club sets out its strategic direction for the next five years, across three key areas including football development, fan-base growth and improved financial sustainability.
Linfield FC is Northern Ireland’s leading football club and launched the strategy publicly to share the Club’s successes to date and vision for the future.
The strategy outlines the Club’s plan to maintain its position as the top club in Northern Ireland, to progress on the European stage and provide a pathway for its best young talent through an apprenticeship scheme. It also sets out a series of actions to re-energise and grow its fanbase and to improve financial sustainability by maximising new opportunities and growing revenue streams.
Club Chairman Roy McGivern welcomed the five-year vision’s publication and commented:
“I warmly welcome the launch of our new Strategic Plan which is the culmination of many months of hard work behind the scenes from our Board members, club officials, management team, and supporters. I want to thank all of those who contributed to the Plan and, in particular our General Manager, Pat Fenlon, and the members of the Board’s Strategic Group who brought this to fruition.
“It is fitting that we launch this ambitious plan during the club’s 135th anniversary. Linfield Football Club has always led the way in development of football in this country and I believe the headline of ‘Never Standing Still’ captures the essence of what this club is about.
“The plan is ambitious and challenging but that is the mindset that we need to embrace as we strive to maintain our position at the pinnacle of local football.”
General Manager Pat Fenlon also welcomed publication of the Strategic Plan and stated:
“Linfield FC has been built on 135 years of courage, innovation and loyalty and so we wanted to share our strategy far and wide with as many of our fans as we could reach – all to let them know, that this new chapter is only the beginning.
“We’ve faced a challenging year with Covid-19 restrictions but I know that our fans will only return to the stadium as energetic and passionate as ever this year.”
Club Manager David Healy added:
“Linfield FC’s fans are the best in the world, and so it’s important that we share with them where we want to take the club to next and what that will look like for the next number of years. I would encourage our members and fans, far and wide, to take time to take a look at the strategy and feed back to the club.”
