Linfield has now received confirmation of the details for the away UEFA Champions League first round, first leg tie against The New Saints.
The away game will take place at 7pm on Tuesday July 5.
Confirmation details are still awaited for the return second leg at Windsor Park.
Linfield supporters are reminded below of tonight’s earlier news item concerning a very limited number of away tickets for this 1000 seated capacity stadium in Oswestry.
Linfield FC would appeal to supporters not to book flights and accommodation for the first leg game, until the match ticketing situation can be confirmed.
The New Saints stadium for this first leg tie between the Welsh and Northern Irish champions can only accommodate slightly in excess of 1000 seated supporters and initial discussions with the host club would indicate that this club’s allocation for travelling supporters is expected to be a very limited number and fewer than we would expect would want to travel.
As is the case with limited allocation all ticket games closer to home, Linfield FC will give first priority on this small allocation of match tickets to our club members on a strictly one per club member basis and with a figure significantly in excess of 500 members on the club’s data base, there is no guarantee that every member wanting to attend this game will be able to obtain a match ticket. Any unsold match tickets reserved for members would then be offered to season ticket holders, subject to availability.
With such a limited number of available away match tickets on offer, there are sure to be a significant number of disappointed supporters who would have been intending to attend this game and Linfield FC can only sympathise with those supporters who will unfortunately and undoubtedly miss out on this occasion, due to unavoidable circumstances which are entirely outside of our control.
A further ticketing update will follow in due course, once the precise ticketing arrangements have been confirmed with the host club.
