Linfield Supporters Clubs make tremendous efforts in response to current corona virus pandemic

Linfield supporters have responded to the challenge of helping out communities affected by the current corona virus crisis.

Our supporters have shown real public spirited kindness, in reaching out to members of the community who have been in need of help during the course of this health emergency.

On Friday members of the 1st South Belfast LSC, in conjunction with other local community groups in the area, set about with enthusiasm the task of delivering a supply of food essentials to those in the community who have been so appreciative of a little bit of extra help in these extremely challenging times.

1st South Belfast chairman John Hewitt was quick to thank his club members who were involved in the delivery of food parcels across the district and he was also hugely appreciative to Maxi for providing the club banner in support of the NHS.

John Hewitt also wished to give thanks to local businesses (Sandy Close Funeral Services) and Big Mal (Avenue recycling), without whose generous donations, these deliveries of food parcels would not have been possible to local residents in the Village area, close to Windsor Park and of course, a traditional catchment area for members of the thriving South Belfast club.

The 1st South Belfast Linfield Supporters Club are currently in their 25th anniversary year but unfortunately, their intention of celebrating the significant milestone with a function at the end of March, was thwarted by the current government guidelines put in place to restrict large gatherings, to prevent the spread of the deadly corona virus.

Hopefully, this function can be rearranged at a suitable time in the future, once the current restrictions have been concluded.

1st South Belfast LSC have not been the only club making a terrific contribution to help out at this time of national emergency.

The 1st Raven LSC launched a just giving appeal to raise funds for the NHS and to date, this worthy initiative has raised a terrific amount in excess of £12 000.

Linfield FC would like to take this opportunity to praise both the 1st South Belfast and 1st Raven Linfield Supporters Clubs for their fantastic efforts in response to this current unprecedented crisis gripping our communities and the National Health Service which has been in the front line of caring for people who’ve been affected by this invisible enemy.
